Benefits
Monthly Stipend — Interns not receiving financial support from a university, government, or foundation receive a monthly stipend from UNDP. The rate varies by location. For Copenhagen, Denmark placements, the stipend is approximately $1,000 per month. For other duty stations, the amount is adjusted to local living costs.

Eligibility — Who Can Apply
✓ Education: Enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree, OR enrolled in a Master’s or PhD programme, OR graduated from a Bachelor’s or higher degree within the past year.
✓ Nationality: Citizens of any UNDP member state. India is a UNDP member state — Indian students are fully eligible.
✓ Age: Minimum 18 years. No maximum age limit stated.
✓ Language: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French or Spanish is an advantage. Arabic, Portuguese, Russian, or Eastern European languages may also be advantageous depending on the placement.
✓ Work Experience: Not required. UNDP does not require prior professional experience. However, relevant academic or project experience strengthens your application.
✓ Health Insurance: You must provide proof of valid health insurance before starting. UNDP does not reimburse medical insurance costs.

Step 3: Click Apply on your chosen position. Write a specific cover letter for each position — do not use a generic letter for multiple applications. UNDP explicitly states that a tailored cover letter significantly improves your chances.
Step 4: Upload all required documents — CV, cover letter, and any supporting certificates. Merge all documents into a single PDF under 10MB.
Step 5: Each internship has its own deadline — check each listing individually. You can apply to as many positions as you qualify for. Apply early as competition is high and positions fill quickly. UNDP does not charge any application fee.
